Job description

We are seeking a versatile Senior Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain core backend APIs and services, primarily using Python and FastAPI.

Key Responsibilities Include

Translating complex workflows into clear domain models, data schemas, and reliable API contracts.
Building integrations across geospatial, media, reporting, asset management, and third-party systems.
Enhancing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and developer workflows.
Developing ETL and data migration processes, especially for imagery and geospatial data.
Contributing to cloud infrastructure design, security, performance, and reliability.

Qualifications And Skills

5+ years of backend development experience with proficiency in Python.
Experience building production APIs with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
Strong knowledge of relational data modeling, PostgreSQL, ORM libraries, and migration tools.
Experience with AWS services, Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to reason from first principles about architecture, data consistency, security, and operational failure modes.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Additional Preferred Skills

Experience in startup environments, infrastructure as code, observability tools, geospatial data, ETL pipelines, and modernizing legacy systems.
Practical knowledge of AI coding agents and large-scale data processing.
