DevOps platform engineer

Overview

Role requires extensive DevOps platform engineering, system administration, and related technical experience in enterprise-scale environments, with strong automation, cloud, and collaboration capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS environments, including monitoring, backups, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Manage and support VisualCron job scheduling, configuration, monitoring, issue resolution, and optimization.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Python to streamline operational workflows.
• Support and manage Windows Server environments ensuring stability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with Jenkins for automation of jobs, CI/CD workflows, and deployment monitoring.
• Utilize GitHub for version control, code management, and collaborative development processes.
• Build, integrate, and maintain REST API-based solutions for system interoperability.
• Coordinate deployment activities and implement environment changes in line with operational requirements.
• Participate in release management and change control processes.
• Manage SQL upgrades, patching, migrations, and environment standardization initiatives.
• Architect and implement automation using PowerShell and Python; build reusable automation frameworks to reduce manual workload.
• Maintain automation for deployments, monitoring, and system operations.
• Provide weekend production support on a rotational basis to ensure system uptime and timely incident resolution.
• Mentor junior resources in SQL automation, CI/CD, and system operations.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, networks, and applications; identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
• Possess good analytical skills; coordinate onsite/offshore activities and manage daily user and communication management about systems.
• Maintain effective coordination and communication with clients, technical teams, and business stakeholders; provide regular status updates and progress reports.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in DevOps platform engineering, system administration, and related technical roles within enterprise-scale environments.
• 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
• Experience administering and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS environments (monitoring, backups, performance tuning, troubleshooting).
• Strong scripting and automation capabilities using PowerShell and Python.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) and automation of jobs and deployment monitoring.
• Experience with REST API integration and building interoperable solutions.
• Experience with source control and collaboration (GitHub).
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; strong communication and coordination abilities.
