IT Support Specialist / Server Administrator

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT Support Specialist / Server Administrator to join our dynamic technology team. Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain server environments including Windows, Linux, VMware ESXi, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Oversee system architecture design, ensuring scalable and reliable infrastructure aligned with organizational needs.
• Implement and monitor network security protocols including firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and intrusion detection systems to safeguard data integrity.
• Perform system administration tasks such as user account management, system updates, patching, and backup procedures.
• Develop automation scripts using Bash, Shell Scripting, Python, or PowerShell to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
• Configure load balancing solutions and RAID controllers to optimize storage performance and redundancy.
• Collaborate within an Agile environment utilizing DevOps practices for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with tools like Jenkins and Git.
• Design RESTful APIs and microservices architectures to support scalable application development using JavaScript, Java, Python, or other relevant technologies.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and security policies in accordance with best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in system administration across diverse operating systems including Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS), and UNIX environments.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as SAN/NAS storage solutions, VMware vSphere/ESXi virtualization platforms, Kubernetes orchestration tools, and containerization technologies.
• Familiarity with database management systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, along with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB.
• Expertise in network configuration including TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, DHCP setup, VPN configuration, load balancing techniques, and firewall management.
• Hands-on experience with solution architecture design for service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices deployment, and cloud-based solutions using AWS or Azure.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting, T-SQL for SQL Server environments; knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins for automation workflows.
• Strong understanding of information security principles including encryption standards (SSL/TLS), access controls, vulnerability assessment tools, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues swiftly and effectively.
