Loopio is looking for a Security Operations Specialist to join our growing Information Security Team and play a key role in protecting our systems, data, and users. In this role, you’ll help ensure that security monitoring, detection, and response processes are operating effectively as Loopio scales.

This Security Operations Specialist will monitor security alerts, investigate potential threats, and support incident response activities across Loopio’s environment. This role will also work cross-functionally with customer-facing teams to support security-related customer inquiries and contribute to customer trust and buyer enablement.

This is a hands-on role well suited for someone who enjoys technical investigation, clear communication, and connecting security operations to real business outcomes in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Monitor and investigate security events across network, platforms, and cloud environments
  • Support security incident response through investigation, escalation, and follow-up activities
  • Review authentication activity, access controls, and system configurations to identify potential gaps
  • Support with maintaining the effectiveness of security operational controls and practices, aligned with SOC 2 and ISO requirements
  • Maintain and support logging and monitoring controls across infrastructure and cloud services
  • Participate in BCP/DR testing and related documentation activities
  • Support the Information Security team with ongoing governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) activities
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product to support secure software development practices
  • Work cross-functionally to support security operations and customer trust initiatives

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or related technical field
  • 3–5 years of experience in security operations, SOC, incident response, or IT operations with a strong security focus
  • Solid understanding of security monitoring, incident handling, access management, and logging practices in production environments
  • Experience supporting security controls aligned to frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001/42001
  • Hands-on experience working in cloud and modern technology environments, including macOS, AWS, and Linux-based systems
  • Familiarity with SIEM, SAST, DAST, WAF and cloud security technology
  • Experience reviewing security events, investigating incidents, and contributing to follow-up activities
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain security topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and work effectively with cross-functional partners
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with sound judgment on when to escalate and when to proceed independently, while collaborating across teams
  • Professional certifications such as
  • CompTIA Security+,
  • ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP),
  • GSOC or GIAC Applied Knowledge Certifications
  • Cloud security certifications from AWS or Azure, or
  • Comparable hands-on security credentials

Where You’ll Work 📍

  • We are currently only looking for candidates who reside in the Greater Toronto Area and can access our co-working space in Downtown Toronto for the occasional team get-together.
  • Loopio is a remote-first workplace because we recognize the advantages of working flexibly. We are HQ’d in Canada, with established hub regions around the world where we hire from.
  • Our employees (or Loopers, as we call ourselves!) live and work in Canada (British Columbia and Ontario), United Kingdom (London), and India (specifically in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Bengaluru).
  • The majority of our team is based in ON and BC, which means these employees live and work remotely within a 300km radius of Toronto (within Ontario) and Vancouver (Within BC).
  • We offer flexible co-working locations available to Loopers in ON and BC. Those based in ON have the option of working out of our convenient co-working space located in the heart of Downtown Toronto and a 12-minute walk from Union Station. BC Loopers have the option to work centrally in Vancouver. It is whatever works best for you!
