Accounting Team Lead

Lokin India Private Limited is a boutique accounting and business advisory firm supporting clients primarily across the United States and Australia. We're looking for an experienced Accounting Team Lead to join our growing team in India. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll supervise a small accounting team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.

You'll work directly with international clients, review your team's work, improve processes, and help ensure the accurate and timely delivery of accounting services. If you enjoy taking ownership, mentoring others, and solving problems, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

Team Leadership

• Supervise and support a small team of accountants across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, and General Ledger.
• Review work completed by team members to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
• Allocate work, provide guidance, and assist with training and mentoring junior staff.
• Help improve accounting workflows, documentation, and internal processes.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.

Accounting & Finance

• Perform and review monthly bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Manage the month-end close process and ensure all deadlines are met.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare account analyses and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Oversee billing, accounts receivable aging, and cash management activities.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processes.
• Support additional finance and accounting projects as required.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
• Minimum 4–6 years of accounting experience.
• Previous experience reviewing the work of junior accountants or leading a small team.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong understanding of General Ledger accounting and reconciliation processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent bookkeeping and financial reporting skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
• A proactive, "roll up your sleeves" attitude and willingness to learn.

Highly Desirable

• Experience working with US-based companies or US accounting standards.
• Experience using SAGE CRE Accounting software.
• Experience in the construction industry.
• Experience improving accounting processes or implementing workflow efficiencies.

Working Hours

• 8:00 PM – 5:00 AM IST (Night Shift)
