Lokin India Private Limited is a boutique accounting and business advisory firm supporting clients primarily across the United States and Australia. We're a young, ambitious company that believes in building a great workplace where talented people can make a genuine impact.
We're looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations in India. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee our accounting team while managing key accounting functions yourself. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys leading people, improving processes, solving problems, and taking ownership.
This is a client-facing role, so excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of accounting principles are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Accounting team, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, and General Ledger functions.
- Review work completed by team members to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely delivery.
- Allocate workloads, monitor performance, and assist with training and development.
- Build efficient workflows and continuously improve accounting processes.
Accounting & Finance
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process.
- Prepare and review monthly bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled.
- Prepare account analyses and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Oversee billing, accounts receivable aging, cash management, and accounts payable processes.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting management reporting.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Support audit requirements and other finance-related projects as required.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows.
- Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone who brings both strong technical accounting skills and leadership experience.
Essential
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including experience leading or supervising a team.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong knowledge of General Ledger accounting and reconciliation processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent bookkeeping and financial reporting skills.
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
- A proactive, "roll up your sleeves" attitude with a passion for solving problems.
Highly Desirable
- Experience working with US-based companies.
- Experience using SAGE CRE Accounting software.
- Experience in the construction industry.
- Experience implementing or improving accounting processes and internal controls.
Working Hours
- 8:00 PM – 5:00 AM IST (Night Shift)
