About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing SaaS sales team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for potential customers — creating interest, qualifying leads, and setting up high-quality meetings for our Account Executives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, contact, and qualify inbound and outbound leads
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand prospects’ needs, pain points, and fit for Lightcast solutions
  • Introduce prospects to the Media Cloud ecosystem and its value proposition
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Schedule product demos and sales meetings for Account Executives
  • Manage outreach sequences through email, calls, social channels, and video messaging
  • Hit and exceed weekly and monthly KPIs, including activity, meetings booked, and qualified opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records and activity tracking in HubSpot CRM
  • Attend networking events and trade shows to build relationships and generate leads.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and customer success to improve lead quality and conversion
  • Stay informed about Lightcast’s expanding features, AI tools, product releases, and competitive landscape

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and 2-3 years of sales, BDR/SDR, or customer-facing experience (SaaS experience preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and interpersonal
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a fast-paced pipeline
  • High level of resilience and ability to handle objections
  • Self-motivated mindset with a passion for achieving goals
  • Comfort using CRM platforms, sales engagement tools, and lead sourcing tools
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in B2B SaaS or tech sales
  • Background in streaming, digital media, or MarTech industries
  • Experience conducting outbound prospecting (cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach)
