Job Description

Light Action Productions is a full-service live event production company specializing in staging, lighting, audio, and video for high-profile events across sports & entertainment, brand activations, and corporate experiences. We are in a rapid growth phase and are looking for experienced Project Managers who can take ownership of complex productions and help scale our operations to the next level.

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of live events from concept through completion. This role is both client-facing and operational, requiring strong leadership, technical understanding, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts under tight deadlines. The Senior Project Manager will work closely with our sales team, clients, and internal departments to deliver exceptional event experiences while ensuring operational efficiency and profitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the lifecycle of a project
  • Translate client vision into actionable production plans
  • Participate in pre-sale strategy and solution development alongside the sales team
  • Lead client meetings, site visits, and show advances
  • Manage all phases of event production: pre-production, load-in, show execution, and load-out
  • Build and maintain detailed project timelines, budgets, and labor plans
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects of varying scale and complexity
  • Collaborate with warehouse/operations teams to ensure accurate equipment pulls
  • Coordinate logistics with transportation teams (trucking, scheduling, routing)
  • Work with technical leads (lighting, audio, video, staging) to ensure seamless integration
  • Lead on-site execution, troubleshooting, and decision-making under pressure
  • Ensure safety standards and best practices are followed
  • Represent the company professionally in high-visibility environments
  • Manage project budgets, track costs, and protect margins
  • Identify efficiencies and opportunities to improve processes as we scale
  • Support post-event reconciliation and internal debriefs

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong expertise in staging, lighting, audio, and video systems, including moving light repair, maintenance, and programming
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing teams, delegating tasks, and driving projects from concept through execution
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail; skilled at managing multiple projects in fast-paced environments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with client-facing experience and a professional presence
  • Proficient with PC-based systems and production documentation, including reports and checklists
  • Self-motivated and dependable, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Adaptable and flexible, with a willingness to travel and work nights, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Experienced in general equipment maintenance, upkeep, and operational readiness

JOB TYPE: Full-time

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • 10+ years of experience in live event and technical production
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary events
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver’s license with reliable transportation required.

  • One Location

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm.
  • Frequent nights, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Travel as needed
  • Flexibility is required and additional hours are frequently available/necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to physically move around jobsites. The employee is regularly required to use hands, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand; bend; stretch; kneel; squat; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee must have the ability to verbally effectively communicate with staff and vendors. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to stay alert and attentive at all times and operate a computer, phone and essential equipment as required. The employee must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
