Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Contract Associate Attorney specializing in Family and Immigration law to join our legal team. Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents related to family law, immigration petitions, estate planning, and other civil matters
• Conduct thorough legal research utilizing LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other legal research tools to support case strategies
• Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence for litigation cases across various practice areas including personal injury, workers' compensation, landlord-tenant law, and securities law
• Assist in managing case files by organizing documents, tracking deadlines, and maintaining accurate records within the law office management system
• Support clients through consultations by providing clear explanations of legal options and procedural steps in immigration law and family law cases
• Collaborate with attorneys on negotiations with opposing counsel or parties to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
• Stay current on evolving laws and regulations related to tribal law & regulations, patent law, environmental law, and other relevant areas to ensure compliance and effective advocacy

Experience

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in the State of Maryland
• Proven experience in legal research and writing using Westlaw or LexisNexis platforms
• Demonstrated knowledge of multiple practice areas including family law, immigration law, estate planning, environmental law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law or litigation
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients
• Excellent legal drafting skills with attention to detail and clarity in all written communications
• Prior legal administrative experience preferred to efficiently manage case workflows and documentation
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment

Pay: $32.12 - $38.69 per hour
