Job Description
As a Procurement Manager at King Rose Construction, you will play a crucial role in leading all purchasing and supply chain functions for construction projects in New York and across the United States. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full procurement lifecyclesourcing, RFIs/RFPs/RFQs, bid analysis, contract negotiation, purchase order processing, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Developing and managing vendor qualification processes to ensure suppliers meet company quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Supporting project teams in identifying and selecting subcontractors, service providers, and specialty vendors.
- Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with local and national vendors to optimize pricing and delivery performance.
- Maintaining visibility into material lead times and availability; proactively communicating potential supply risks to project teams.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, Estimating, Finance, and on-Site Teams to forecast materials and equipment needs.
- Implementing procurement best practices, cost-saving initiatives, and process improvements across the supply chain.
- Ensuring compliance with company purchasing policies, insurance and bonding requirements, and contract terms.
- Managing procurement documentation including bid tabs, contract files, and change orders.
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for vendor and category performance, pricing accuracy, and fulfillment efficiency.
- Supporting sustainability and MWBE (Minority/Women-Owned Business Enterprise) participation goals where applicable.
Qualifications required for this role:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain managementpreferably within commercial construction or real estate development.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, subcontracting processes, logistics, and industry pricing.
- Proven experience in vendor evaluation, contract administration, and cost control.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with construction project management systems (e.g., Procore, Sage, Viewpoint, Smartsheet, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills with experience in spend analytics, category management, and demand planning.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and deliver results under deadlines.
