Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) – Patient Care

Pay: $25.00–$35.00 per hour

King Animal Hospital is seeking compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our Small Animal Patient Care team. This role is ideal for RVTs who are passionate about hands-on nursing care, patient advocacy, and supporting recovery in a collaborative, fast-paced hospital environment.

About Us

King Animal Hospital is a privately owned, state-of-the-art referral and emergency hospital serving both equine and small animal patients. Our 60,000 sq. ft. facility on 50 acres in King City, Ontario offers advanced diagnostics and a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

You’ll work alongside RVTs, ACAs, CSRs, ER veterinarians, and board-certified specialists in surgery, critical care, neurology, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, rehabilitation, and more—providing well-rounded exposure to a wide range of cases.

What You’ll Do

As a Patient Care RVT, you will play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their hospital stay:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to hospitalized patients across multiple departments
• Monitor patient comfort, vitals, and overall condition, escalating concerns as needed
• Administer medications, treatments, and supportive therapies as directed
• Assist with procedures and diagnostics to support patient care plans
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records (EzyVet, VetRadar)
• Ensure patients are clean, comfortable, and receiving appropriate husbandry care
• Communicate effectively with veterinarians and the care team to support continuity of care
• Provide compassionate client communication and education during admissions and discharge

What We’re Looking For

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in good standing with the OAVT
• Strong interest in patient care, nursing, and recovery support
• Excellent attention to detail and observational skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Previous experience in emergency or referral practice is an asset, but we are open to training the right candidate
