Role and Responsibilities:
As an Junior Preschool Teacher, you will help create an engaging, safe, and supportive classroom environment that encourages young children to learn and explore. You will work closely with lead teachers and center teams to implement KinderCare’s curriculum, guide individual learning goals, and build positive relationships with families. In this position, you will inspire curiosity, support emotional development, and nurture a lifelong love of learning.
- Assist lead teachers with the delivery of KinderCare’s age-appropriate curriculum focused on creativity, exploration, and social-emotional learning.
- Supervise and interact with children to ensure safety and well-being while adhering to health and licensing requirements.
- Develop positive, respectful relationships with children and communicate professionally with families and co-workers.
- Encourage hands-on learning experiences that build independence, problem-solving, and confidence.
- Work with the classroom team and leadership to maintain smooth daily routines and foster a supportive work environment.
- Prepare materials, organize learning areas, and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom.
- Engage in training and professional development activities to support continuous learning and career growth.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meets state requirements for early childhood roles or willing to complete necessary qualifications.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and follow guidance from teaching and center leadership.
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with young children and supporting their development.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and participate in active indoor and outdoor play.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- CDA or early childhood coursework preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool children.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or interest in earning certification with employer support.
- Understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate instructional practices.
