Job Description
About KAVIA AI
KAVIA AI is an enterprise software company with a live, production AI platform in use today.
We build an AI-native workflow and reasoning layer for the full software development lifecycle — spanning requirements, architecture, code, testing, CI/CD, and long-term maintenance. Our platform is used by enterprise teams working on real, large-scale codebases, not demos or internal experiments.
AI at KAVIA is foundational. The platform is built around agent-based orchestration, enterprise knowledge graphs, and full lifecycle traceability, enabling teams to understand, evolve, and ship complex software systems with greater speed, confidence, and structure.
As the platform and customer footprint scale, we’re hiring a QA Engineering Leader to help raise the bar across the product and establish a stronger foundation for test strategy, automation, release confidence, and product reliability.
The Role
This is a hands-on quality leadership role on an existing, production platform.
As a QA Engineering Leader, you will work closely with engineering and product teams to improve how KAVIA tests, validates, and releases core platform capabilities. You will help define practical quality processes, expand automation where it matters most, and improve confidence across product workflows already in customer use.
This role sits at the intersection of product quality, workflow validation, pragmatic automation, and release readiness.
This role is ideal for an experienced quality engineer who wants meaningful ownership, broad product exposure, and the opportunity to shape quality practices in a fast-moving enterprise SaaS environment.
What You’ll Do
- Drive quality across core platform workflows spanning UI, backend services, APIs, and multi-step product experiences
- Design and execute test strategies for new features, existing workflows, and critical release paths
- Improve regression discipline and testing coverage across the areas of greatest product and customer risk
- Build and expand automated test coverage for high-value product workflows
- Design end-to-end, integration, regression, and API tests across the platform
- Improve test reliability, maintainability, and execution confidence over time
- Introduce practical quality engineering practices appropriate for a growing product company
- Perform hands-on exploratory testing across platform behavior, workflow logic, and user-facing product experiences
- Validate AI-assisted workflows and platform outputs for correctness, consistency, and usability
- Identify edge cases, workflow gaps, and failure modes that may not be captured by basic happy-path testing
- Translate product requirements and changing system behavior into thoughtful, accurate test scenarios
- Support release readiness by validating critical flows before production releases
- Surface quality risks clearly and early so the team can make sound release decisions
- Work with engineering teams to validate fixes, reduce recurring defects, and improve release confidence
- Help improve bug reporting standards, release checklists, and test execution discipline
- Help establish a stronger quality bar across the engineering organization
- Bring structure, judgment, and clarity to how the team thinks about testing and release risk
- Partner effectively with engineers and product managers in a high-trust, fast-moving environment
- Contribute to a culture of ownership, rigor, and practical execution
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 2–6 years of professional experience in software testing, QA, or quality engineering
- Strong hands-on experience in product testing, regression testing, and bug reporting
- Experience testing web applications, backend systems, and APIs
- Experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar
- Ability to understand product requirements and translate them into strong test scenarios
- Good technical depth and comfort working closely with software engineers
- Strong ownership, judgment, communication, and attention to detail
- Comfort operating in fast-moving environments with real users and changing product behavior
Strong Plus
- Experience with Python or JavaScript for automation, scripting, or test tooling
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release processes
- Experience testing complex workflows, developer tools, or AI-assisted systems
- Startup or product company experience
- Ability to improve testing structure and quality processes with limited hand-holding
- Track record of bringing discipline and clarity to quality efforts in ambiguous environments
Why This Role Is Interesting
- Work on a real, production enterprise platform
- Have visible impact on product quality, release confidence, and automation maturity
- Work closely with engineering and product teams on meaningful technical problems
- Help shape the quality foundation of a fast-evolving company
- Take on a role with genuine ownership and room to grow
Who This Role Is a Good Fit For
This Role Tends To Resonate With Engineers Who
- Care deeply about quality, correctness, and user experience
- Enjoy finding failure modes before customers do
- Like balancing hands-on testing with pragmatic automation
- Prefer real product ownership over narrow function-based roles
- Want to help shape how a growing engineering team builds and releases software
