Job Description
Position: Medical Administrator
Industry: Hospital / Healthcare
Role Overview
A Medical Administrator oversees the non-clinical operations of a hospital or healthcare facility, ensuring smooth functioning, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient care support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Hospital Operations Management
- Supervise day-to-day administrative operations of the hospital
- Coordinate between departments (clinical, nursing, finance, HR)
- Ensure efficient patient flow and service delivery
2. Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise administrative staff
- Monitor staff performance and conduct evaluations
- Maintain discipline and workplace policies
3. Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, standards, and accreditation bodies (e.g., NABH in India)
- Maintain proper documentation and records
- Implement hospital policies and procedures
4. Financial Management
- Prepare and manage budgets
- Monitor expenses and optimize operational costs
- Oversee billing, insurance processes, and revenue cycle
5. Patient Experience & Quality Control
- Handle patient grievances and feedback
- Improve service quality and patient satisfaction
- Ensure hygiene, safety, and service standards
6. Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement hospital growth strategies
- Introduce new services or operational improvements
- Analyze data and prepare reports for management
7. Vendor & Resource Management
- Manage contracts with suppliers and service providers
- Ensure availability of medical and non-medical supplies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration / Hospital Management / Business Administration
- Master’s degree (MHA / MBA in Healthcare) preferred

Experience
- Typically 8–15 years in hospital administration or healthcare management
