1. Job Title: Production Manager Fastener Manufacturing

Job Summary The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing process of fasteners, ensuring production targets, quality standards, cost efficiency, and timely delivery. The role involves managing shop floor operations including heading, threading, heat treatment, surface finishing, and packing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Control

• Develop daily/weekly/monthly production plans based on customer orders and forecasts
• Ensure optimal utilization of machines (cold forging, thread rolling, heat treatment furnaces)
• Monitor production output and take corrective actions to meet targets

2. Shop Floor Management

• Supervise all production processes: wire drawing, cold heading, threading, heat treatment, plating
• Ensure smooth workflow and minimize downtime
• Coordinate with maintenance for machine upkeep

3. Quality Assurance

• Ensure products meet standards (ISO, IATF etc.)
• Work closely with QA/QC team to reduce rejection rates
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

4. Manpower Management

• Manage operators, supervisors, and shift in-charges
• Allocate manpower efficiently across shifts
• Train workers on safety, quality, and productivity

5. Cost & Efficiency Control

• Reduce material wastage and improve yield
• Monitor production costs and suggest improvements
• Implement lean manufacturing / 5S / Kaizen initiatives

6. Inventory & Material Coordination

• Coordinate with procurement for raw materials (steel wire rods)
• Ensure proper stock levels of WIP and finished goods
• Avoid production delays due to material shortages

7. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to safety standards and PPE usage
• Maintain compliance with environmental and statutory regulations
• Conduct regular safety audits

8. Reporting & MIS

• Prepare daily production reports and performance metrics
• Track KPIs like OEE, rejection rate, downtime
• Report to plant head / operations head

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
• 1015 years of experience in fastener industry only
• Strong knowledge of cold forging, threading, and heat treatment
