Overview
We’re seeking a hands-on Rigging & Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead complex Aviation Security (AVSEC) equipment moves at airports and secure facilities nationwide. This role is for a true technical authority who owns lift planning, risk decisions, and on‑site execution - and isn’t afraid to stop work when conditions aren’t right.
You’ll oversee high‑risk rigging operations from planning through execution, ensuring every move is safe, compliant, and precise.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the technical SME for AVSEC equipment rigging and movement
- Develop and approve rigging and lift plans, including load calculations and safety controls
- Lead rigging path site walks to identify constraints and risks
- Maintain rigging risk assessments and logs
- Evaluate and oversee rigging subcontractors (safety, performance, union compliance)
- Provide on‑site oversight for critical or complex lifts
- Coordinate with Safety, OEMs, union representatives, and project teams
- Exercise stop‑work authority when plans or safety criteria aren’t met
- Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
- OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Journeyman‑level trade certification or equivalent rigging experience
- Proven experience leading complex rigging operations in airports, aviation security, or other secure/industrial environments
- Strong expertise in lift planning, load calculations, and rigging risk management
- Experience working in union environments (PLAs, prevailing wage)
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
