Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Chemist role based in Jairampur. The Chemist will perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process samples, adhesives, resins, and finished plywood products to monitor and maintain quality standards. Responsibilities include preparing chemical solutions, operating and calibrating laboratory instruments, documenting test results, and reporting deviations to relevant stakeholders. The role involves supporting process optimization, troubleshooting production issues through analytical testing, and assisting with small-scale trials and experiments for product and process improvement. The Chemist will also help maintain laboratory safety, follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensure compliance with internal and external quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Laboratory Skills, including sample preparation, handling of chemicals, and safe operation of basic laboratory equipment.
• Candidates should possess solid Quality Control capabilities to test, monitor, and document the quality of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
• Candidates should possess excellent Analytical Skills to interpret test data, identify trends or deviations, and support problem solving in production processes.
• Candidates should possess experience in Research and Development (R&D) and Research activities, including conducting trials, recording observations, and contributing to process or product improvements.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• Familiarity with industrial or manufacturing environments, preferably in wood, paper, adhesives, or related sectors, is beneficial.
• Ability to follow SOPs, maintain accurate records, and collaborate effectively with production, maintenance, and quality teams.
• Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety practices, and willingness to work primarily in an on-site laboratory and plant setting.
