Job Title: Civil Engineer – Foundation Works (Defense Project)

Job Summary-

We are seeking a highly accountable and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to manage and execute foundation works for a defense infrastructure project. The candidate must demonstrate strong ownership, proactive problem-solving ability, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and client representatives.

Key Responsibilities1. Project Execution & Foundation Works

• Plan, supervise, and execute foundation activities including excavation, PCC, RCC footing, raft foundations, and piling works (if applicable).
• Ensure all works are carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Monitor site progress and ensure adherence to project timelines.
• Coordinate with surveyors for layout and levels.

2. Ownership & Accountability

• Take full ownership of assigned work packages from planning to execution and closure.
• Identify risks, delays, or technical issues and proactively resolve them.
• Ensure zero rework through proper planning and supervision.
• Maintain accountability for quality, safety, and timely delivery.

3. Communication & Coordination

• Communicate effectively in English (both written and verbal) with:
• Project managers
• Defense authorities / client representatives
• Contractors and subcontractors
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Draft professional emails, technical notes, and site documentation.

4. Quality Control

• Ensure compliance with QA/QC standards and testing procedures.
• Conduct inspections of reinforcement, shuttering, and concreting works.
• Coordinate with lab/testing teams for material quality checks.

5. Safety Compliance

• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, especially considering defense project requirements.
• Conduct safety briefings and ensure safe work practices on site.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain site records, checklists, and logs.
• Track material consumption and work progress.
• Prepare bar bending schedules (BBS) and quantity take-offs if required.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong command of English (written and verbal communication is mandatory).
• High level of ownership and responsibility mindset.
• Good understanding of foundation engineering and construction practices.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings.
• Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Problem-solving attitude with proactive decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in civil
• 2–6 years of experience in foundation works (preferably in infrastructure or defense projects).

Preferred Experience

• Experience in defense or government projects.
• Exposure to piling, deep foundations, or heavy structural works.
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and site documentation.
