Senior Test Automation Engineer (UI/Python) - Onsite (5 days a week)

Location: Omaha, NE

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in UI automation to design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test solutions that ensure product quality and reliable delivery. The ideal candidate will take ownership of automated UI test frameworks and drive long-term maintainability, stability, and coverage improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Experience with Squish UI Automation is strongly preferred.

• Design, develop, and maintain automated UI test frameworks (desktop, web, embedded applications)
• Own the automation architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability
• Implement object mapping, verification points, and checkpoints for robust GUI automation
• Develop and execute regression and smoke test suites
• Deliver stable, reliable automated test execution to support release confidence
• Continuously improve automation coverage and reduce test fragility
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives)
• Engage early in requirement discussions to assess testability and automation feasibility
• Collaborate closely with development teams for defect analysis and root cause resolution
• Contribute to QA standards, best practices, and process improvements
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other QA engineers

Required Qualifications

• 7-15 years of experience in Quality Assurance with strong hands-on automation expertise
• Proven UI automation experience across desktop, web, and embedded systems
• Strong programming skills in:
• Python
• JavaScript
• Experience in:
• UI testing and GUI automation
• Object mapping and verification strategies
• Checkpoints and validation mechanisms
• Regression and smoke testing
• Version control experience using Git
• Experience with test management tools such as Jira and Xray
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong experience with Squish UI Automation (highly preferred)
• Experience in Qt UI testing
• CI/CD integration experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
• Experience with Robot Framework

The base salary range for this position is $ 72,000 to $81,000 plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies.
