Job Description

We are seeking a senior Telecom Solution Engineer / Solutions Architect to lead a mission-critical Channel Bank and legacy telecom retirement initiative. This role is accountable for both technical strategy and execution, operating as a hands-on subject matter expert while providing structured execution leadership across multiple stakeholders in a regulated utility environment.

The role will evaluate existing legacy telecommunications systems, identify service dependencies, and design a phased migration approach to transition services from TDM-based technologies (Channel Bank, POTS, 56K, T1) to modern Ethernet, MPLS, fiber, and wireless solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of legacy telecom retirement efforts from discovery through decommission
  • Perform service inventory and dependency analysis, including demarcation and site constraints
  • Develop migration phases, cutover plans, rollback strategies, and testing requirements
  • Own or technically direct carrier engagement, including ordering, provisioning, turn-ups, and disconnects
  • Coordinate execution across carriers, contractors, internal SMEs, operations teams, and leadership
  • Lead cutover events, providing real-time technical oversight (on-site or remote as required)
  • Maintain execution tracking, risk management, and status reporting using Microsoft 365 tools
  • Drive formal service decommissioning and billing disconnects to ensure cost savings are realized
  • Ensure adherence to change management and regulatory standards common to utility environments
