Duration: 12 months contract

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Backend Java Developer to design and build scalable, cloud-native backend systems. This role involves modernizing legacy components, developing microservices, and building resilient event-driven architectures on AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java (23) and Spring Boot (3.x)
• Build and enhance microservices and RESTful APIs
• Modernize legacy backend systems while ensuring platform stability
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and performance
• Develop and integrate cloud-native solutions using AWS (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, SQS, EventBridge)
• Implement event-driven architectures for scalability and resilience
• Write unit and integration tests; participate in peer code reviews
• Troubleshoot production issues and enhance system observability
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Frontend, QA, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and backend design patterns
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
• Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience working with legacy systems and modernization initiatives
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (Docker)
• Strong ownership mindset and problem-solving abilities
