Junior Software Systems Engineer

Salary: $95,000 - 115,000 per year

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a DevOps environment
• Proficiency in Linux (RHEL)
• Experience or knowledge in setting up or managing Virtual Machines (not mandatory if the candidate meets other criteria)
• Proficient in Python and/or Bash scripting
• Approximately 1-5 years of relevant technical experience, including internships or co-ops
• Active Secret clearance with the U.S. Department of Defense at the time of hiring (must be current or have been active within the last 2 years for activation without a new investigation)
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as oVirt, RHV, VMware vSphere/ESXI, or similar tools
• Basic understanding of networking fundamentals including switch setup and configuration
• Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificate exchange and DoD cybersecurity standards

Responsibilities

• Execute software integration and validation tasks in accordance with set DevOps processes
• Verify functional updates, apply patches, and perform regression testing to ensure system stability across diverse hardware and operating systems
• Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot integration issues concerning networking, virtualization, or software compatibility
• Document test results and prepare supporting documentation in alignment with Agile and DevOps reporting standards
• Participate in sprint planning sessions, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives within a collaborative Agile team
