Lead AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer
Location: North America (Remote)
As a Lead AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will oversee and build cloud infrastructure that powers mission‑critical platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, and high performance. The role involves end‑to‑end ownership of cloud environments, from infrastructure as code to monitoring and incident response. You will collaborate closely with development teams to support frequent production releases and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
Accountabilities
- Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure for critical business platforms using best practices
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of senior and mid‑level engineers across multiple locations
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and manage complex cloud environments
- Ensure system reliability and stability through monitoring, alerts, dashboards, and proactive incident response
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable, efficient solutions that meet business objectives
- Diagnose and resolve issues in production systems and support SaaS‑based operations
- Drive adoption of CI/CD best practices and support frequent production releases
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional DevOps experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud services
- 3+ years of experience leading technical teams or managing projects
- 5+ years working with modern CI/CD technologies such as GitLab or GitHub
- 3+ years hands‑on experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes or Amazon EKS) in production environments
- 3+ years experience using Terraform in large‑scale setups
- Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
- Proficiency with Agile project delivery methodologies
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams
Desired Qualifications
- Experience integrating monitoring tools into application support (e.g., Datadog or equivalent)
- Familiarity with distributed cloud deployments (multi‑region or multi‑cloud)
- Relevant certifications, including AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Terraform Associate, or Certified DevOps Developer - Master (CDCD‑001)
