Job Summary
The Inventory Manager in a hypermart is responsible for managing high-volume stock across multiple departments such as Grocery, Fresh (F&V), Fish & Meat, and Non-Food. The role ensures accurate stock availability, proper stock rotation, and minimal loss, while supporting smooth day-to-day store operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee inventory management across all departments in the hypermart
- Maintain accurate stock records in the system and physical stock
- Monitor daily stock movement (GRN, sales, transfers, damages)
- Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO), especially for perishable items
- Conduct regular stock audits and surprise checks
- Identify and control shrinkage, wastage, and expired stock
- Coordinate with the purchase team for timely replenishment
- Ensure proper storage conditions for different product categories
- Supervise receiving process and verify inward materials
- Generate and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports
- Train and monitor inventory staff and department coordinators
- Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of retail/hypermart inventory systems
- Experience in handling multi-department stock (FMCG, Fresh, Non-Food)
- Good analytical and reporting skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory software
- Strong leadership and team management skills
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or related field
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in retail or hypermart inventory management
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹23,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
