Inventory Manager

Job Summary

The Inventory Manager in a hypermart is responsible for managing high-volume stock across multiple departments such as Grocery, Fresh (F&V), Fish & Meat, and Non-Food. The role ensures accurate stock availability, proper stock rotation, and minimal loss, while supporting smooth day-to-day store operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee inventory management across all departments in the hypermart
• Maintain accurate stock records in the system and physical stock
• Monitor daily stock movement (GRN, sales, transfers, damages)
• Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO), especially for perishable items
• Conduct regular stock audits and surprise checks
• Identify and control shrinkage, wastage, and expired stock
• Coordinate with the purchase team for timely replenishment
• Ensure proper storage conditions for different product categories
• Supervise receiving process and verify inward materials
• Generate and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports
• Train and monitor inventory staff and department coordinators
• Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of retail/hypermart inventory systems
• Experience in handling multi-department stock (FMCG, Fresh, Non-Food)
• Good analytical and reporting skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory software
• Strong leadership and team management skills

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or related field

Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in retail or hypermart inventory management

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹23,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
