Junior Java Developer

At Instio, we are redefining how hotels operate using intelligent automation, real-time workflows, and AI-driven systems. We are looking for a high-ownership Java developer who is comfortable working across backend systems, experimenting with AI-assisted development, and supporting DevOps where needed.

Role Overview

You will be part of a fast-moving product team building scalable backend systems powering hotel operations across multiple properties. This role requires strong fundamentals in Java and modern frameworks, combined with the ability to adapt quickly and take ownership of deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
• Build scalable APIs and optimize performance for real-time operational systems
• Work with relational databases and ensure data integrity and performance
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality
• Collaborate with product and frontend teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Handle basic DevOps responsibilities such as deployments, monitoring, and debugging production issues
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and system improvements

Required Skills & Experience

• 4–5 years of hands-on experience in Java development
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and Hibernate
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and system design basics
• Experience with databases like MySQL / PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with AI-driven development tools (e.g., code assistants, automation tools, prompt-based workflows)
• Basic exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, server management, cloud environments)
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

• Experience working in SaaS products
• Exposure to messaging systems, real-time systems, or workflow engines
• Familiarity in Hospitality domain / technology
• Familiarity with Docker / Kubernetes
• Understanding of hospitality domain (not mandatory, but a plus)
