Middle Node.js Developer

Our team is looking for a Middle Node.js Developer for one of our clients.

Our customer is a groundbreaking eyewear company revolutionising the optical industry. With numerous offline shops throughout EU, client offers stylish and affordable glasses with a fixed pricing model, ensuring accessibility for everyone. The innovative approach combines fashion with affordability, providing customers with a simplified and transparent eyewear shopping experience.

The project is an ecosystem we developed consisting of 7 active applications, 1 in support phase, all under a unified Backend. We’re delivering a constellation of seamlessly integrated applications that enhance both online and in-store customer experience.

Responsibilities and tasks:

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and JavaScript
• Implement and maintain integrations with MongoDB, Redis, and other data services
• Write and maintain automated tests using Jest
• Work with server environments using SSH, FTP/SFTP, and scheduled tasks (CRON)
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues in a timely manner
• Collaborate with team members, participate in code reviews, and improve code quality
• Use AI development tools to improve development efficiency where appropriate
• Continuously learn and adopt new tools and technologies relevant to the project

Our expectations of the candidate:

• 4+ years of professional experience as a Backend Engineer (Node.js)
• Strong expertise in Node.js and Express.js
• Proficiency in environment and package management with NVM
• Deep knowledge of MongoDB and Mongoose
• Experience with Raw driver connections
• Hands-on experience with Redis
• Experience with Socket.IO
• Solid testing practices with Jest
• Experience integrating AI tools
• Familiarity with SSH, FTP, SFTP, CRON
• English: Intermediate+

Nice to have

• Server administration skills (Linux, SSH, systemd, logrotate) for self-managed environments
• Process management with PM2
• Experience with Elasticsearch and Kafka
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)

• Ability to clearly explain technical ideas, ask questions, and discuss solutions with the team
• Ability to work effectively with developers, QA engineers, designers, and managers
• Ability to analyze issues, find solutions, and think logically when facing technical challenges
