Mainframe Database Administrator

Role Overview

The Mainframe Database Administrator will provide subject matter expertise across IMS, DB2, and CICS, supporting the design, integration, administration, and performance of mainframe database environments for on pf the largest Canadian Banks! This role supports application teams with database administration, mainframe software updates, and troubleshooting related to performance, capacity, and functional issues.

Key Responsibilities

Provide SME support for IMS, DB2, and CICS database environments Perform database administration and operational support for mainframe systems Support mainframe application development, including COBOL-based applications Provide guidance on database and mainframe software upgrades and changes Investigate and resolve database, application performance, and capacity issues Support code development and change management processes Collaborate with technical teams to provide database and mainframe expertise

Must-Have Requirements

3+ years of experience with IMS, DB2, or CICS (Oracle + DB2 combined experience acceptable for 3+ years) 3+ years of experience in a z/OS TSO/ISPF environment 3+ years of experience with mainframe tools, including: MACRO4 DB2 and IMS administration tools IBM Application Performance Analyzer (APA) or equivalent 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow and Endevor for code/change management Strong knowledge of COBOL application development

Nice to Have

Experience with Easytrieve, SAS, DB2 Connect, TOAD Knowledge of CA‑7 scheduler functionality Exposure to mainframe assembler Banking DBA experience

Salary: $38- $40 per hour
