ICD is currently seeking Grader Operators to support an oilsands reclamation project for a 3-to-4-month fixed term contract. The schedule for this position is a 14x14 rotation, working twelve 12-hour shifts for the duration of the project.

The successful applicant MUST BE local to Fort McMurray.

Responsibilities

• Basic road and marine cleanup and maintenance
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
• Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.
• Maintain machinery to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
• Check fuel supplies at sites to ensure adequate availability.
• Perform tasks that may involve physical labour such as loading and unloading of trucks
• Complete all necessary daily paperwork. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, pre-trip and inspection logs, deliver receipts, vehicle inspection, permits, hours of service, etc.
• Keep records of material or equipment usage or problems encountered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years grader operating experience
• Working experience on or near water and/or in a marine environment is an asset.
• Must have the initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions for project completion as requested.

Successful candidates must provide have following items prior to confirmation of their start date:

• Comprehensive alcohol and drug test clearance letter
• Copy of valid class 5 driver’s license
• Copy of clean 3-year driver’s abstract
• Copies of training certificates related to site-based work

This includes, but is not limited to, following Safe Work practices and procedures, attending safety meetings and toolbox talks, understanding and navigating our digital safety application (SiteDocs), completing FLRA’s, using PPE, inspection of vehicles, tools, and equipment, and more.
