Quality Engineer – Pre-Production / Manufacturing

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support per-production and production build activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on, shop-floor role focused on identifying, analyzing, and resolving build and quality issues while working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams.

You will play a critical role in ensuring product quality, supporting issue resolution, and driving continuous improvement across Body Shop and General Assembly operations.

Key Responsibilities"

Investigate and resolve manufacturing and build issues on the shop floor

Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions

Lead issue tracking and resolution through cross-functional collaboration

Act as liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and supplier quality teams

Support supplier quality containment and documentation processes

Conduct easel board reviews and participate in issue resolution meetings

Analyze quality data using statistical tools (e.g., Mini tab)

Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and inspection reports

Required Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in Quality Engineering within manufacturing

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Experience with quality tools (Six Sigma, Lean, SPC, ISO standards)

Knowledge of powertrain/propulsion systems (engines, transmissions, drive units)

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical data

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automotive, or related field

Experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM systems

Exposure to Body Shop (robotics/welding) or General Assembly operations

Work Environment

Hands-on, floor-based role
