As a Medical Coder at Infinx, your role involves reviewing patient medical records and assigning codes to diagnoses and procedures performed. This is crucial for the facility to bill insurance companies and other third-party payers accurately. You will be responsible for coding medical charts with a thorough understanding of medical terminology, AMA guidelines, anatomy, physiology, and procedures. Your tasks will include assigning appropriate CPT, ICD-9 CM, HCPCS, and special access codes based on medical documentation. It is essential to associate diagnosis codes with the correct procedure codes (CPT) and sequence them properly for accurate reimbursement.

  • Ensure the number of charts in a batch matches the total received from clients
  • Maintain daily and monthly Management Information System (M.I.S.)

  • Handle denial follow-up and appeals when necessary
  • Conduct specialty training for experienced coders
