Job Description
Job Summary
- Responsible for dispensing medications correctly for customers to use at home, as well as educating the customers on their medications and answering any questions the customers have.
- Responsible for managing the pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy staff, depending on the type of retail pharmacy they work at. Their schedule may be slightly more standard, however they are likely to work retail hours.
- Arabic speaking is optional.
- General Accountability
- Utilizing clinical tools & data to review patients' cases and conducts an evaluation of needs and treatment cost
- Reaching out to multiple medical warehouses, DME vendors, and specialty pharmacies to inquire about pricing and availability of prescribed treatment with a cost-effective outcome.
- Assisting with answering calls to hospitals, doctors, and nurse lines.
- Works with medical practitioners to fill necessary prescriptions and offer opinions on the type of medication to prescribe.
- Counsels patients on type of prescription, dosage, side effects, and other essential information.
- Performs other pharmacy-related duties, as assigned.
- Trains new employees and interns if needed.

- Active Virginia State License
- Must have the ability to support the complexity of members' needs, including face-to-face visitation

- Case Management: 1 year (Preferred)
- Pharmacy: 1 year (Preferred)
