Wireless Network Engineer

Role Title: Senior Wireless Network Engineer (Cisco, Meraki & Aruba)

Location: Remote

Duration: 6 Months contract with possible high extension

Experience Required: 8-10

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Wireless Engineer with deep expertise in Cisco, Meraki, and Aruba wireless technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing large-scale Wi‑Fi networks across corporate and manufacturing environments. This role requires both strong technical execution skills and the ability to lead enterprise-wide wireless initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Operations & Engineering-

• Provide day-to-day operational support, monitoring, maintenance, triage, and troubleshooting for enterprise networking environments
• Design, implement, maintain, and support wired and wireless network infrastructure
• Create, maintain, and update enterprise network diagrams and documentation
• Research, test, and deploy new networking technologies and solutions
• Support internet services, capacity planning, disaster recovery (DR), fault tolerance, and redundancy initiatives
• Design and manage external-facing infrastructure and high-availability solutions

Architecture, Monitoring & Security-

• Define and contribute to enterprise-wide network design standards
• Partner with Information Security and Compliance teams to ensure solutions meet corporate security requirements
• Design and support network monitoring and alerting platforms, including business-driven dashboards, metrics, and KPI reporting

Project Leadership & Execution-

• Lead and support enterprise network initiatives and large-scale implementations
• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and assess impact of proposed changes
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee network-related projects from design through implementation
• Participate in all active initiatives impacting the enterprise network environment

Mentorship & Strategic Vision-

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship for network-related technologies
• Support leadership in defining medium- and long-term network strategy
• Evaluate emerging technologies and products for enterprise use
• Oversee testing strategies, performance metrics, and network viability assessments

Required Technical & Functional Skills:

Core Networking-

• Strong understanding of OSI Layer Model and packet flow
• IP address space design and network architecture planning
• Network security protocols and wireless security best practices

Wireless Technologies-

• Extensive experience with Cisco Wireless solutions, including:
• Cisco 9800 WLC
• Cisco 9120/9130 Access Points
• Strong hands-on experience with Meraki Wireless
• Working knowledge of Aruba Wireless technologies
• Proven ability to plan and execute large-scale, multi-site Wi‑Fi deployments
• Experience tuning and optimizing Wi‑Fi performance in corporate and manufacturing environments

Operations & Collaboration-

• Ability to troubleshoot complex wireless issues and perform regular performance audits
• Collaborate with Network Engineering, IT Operations, Security, and cross-functional teams
• Provide technical guidance and support to end users and internal IT teams
• Strong documentation skills for configurations, procedures, and best practices

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 10+ years of progressive experience in designing, implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting network infrastructure
• 7+ years of hands-on experience deploying and managing enterprise Wi‑Fi networks

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience in cloud-connected or hybrid network environments
• Exposure to manufacturing or industrial wireless deployments
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
