As a Staff Accountant at Idera's Corporate Accounting Organization, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and profitability through strategic, financial, and operational leadership. Your responsibilities will include:
- Gathering, preparing, testing, and maintaining journal entries for various accounting areas in compliance with GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure timely close timelines are met.
- Performing month-end ledger account reconciliations and investigating/resolving variances in ledger accounts.
- Processing operational transactions with a high level of accuracy, such as business accruals, bank reconciliation, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and leases.
- Assisting in researching technical accounting issues and applying the proper accounting treatment for booking journal entries and gathering audit evidence.
- Supporting compliance efforts and process improvements to enhance internal controls within your area of responsibility.
- Collaborating with departments like Treasury, FP&A, Payroll, and Functional Support teams to ensure accurate recording of transactions.
- Developing a deep understanding of business unit and functional group strategies, priorities, and offerings, while gaining knowledge of core and adjacent markets.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- 4 years of technical accounting experience involving accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Strong technical (GAAP) and financial accounting skills with the ability to document accounting conclusions in a technical white paper.
- Analytical thinking skills to identify and implement effective process improvements.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, along with advanced Excel proficiency.
- Experience working in a fast-paced software organization and familiarity with Sage Intacct would be advantageous.
