Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeping Manager to join our team. The manager should own their work and complete tasks from beginning to end with minimal supervision. They will manage bookkeeping for multiple clients in a fast-paced environment, while delivering accurate and error-free work. This remote position offers flexibility and fosters teamwork and company culture.

This role requires 30 hours per week to start, and we can increase the workload as we grow if the candidate is looking for more responsibilities. We can also accommodate the responsibilities to 20-30 hours per week based on experience and team members' availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Record receipts in Dext or QuickBooks Online.
  • Record sales and expenses from third-party apps such as Square, Stripe, Shopify, etc.
  • Categorize transactions in the bank feed and match them to bills, expenses, and sales deposits.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial reports and summaries for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and information for each client.
  • Assist with payroll processing and related filings.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Update the project management software to reflect completed tasks.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) as required to support your role and responsibilities.
  • Keep the account manager informed about the status of client work, including any delays.
  • Provide support for bookkeeping cleanup and catch-up projects as required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical errors in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
  • Stay current on bookkeeping best practices and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Must be located in Canada.
  • Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience with QBO.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Dext.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills for client and team interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Run payroll systems and tax preparation.
  • Experience with Zoho, Plooto, and ClickUp is a plus.
