Job Summary
We are looking for a disciplined QC Inspector who can execute inspection activities with zero ambiguity and zero shortcuts. This role is responsible for verifying product conformance at all stages of production and ensuring all measurements, documentation, and acceptance decisions meet customer, internal, and regulatory requirements.
This role also includes calibration and gage control (calibration) responsibility, ensuring all inspection equipment is verified, within calibration, and traceable prior to use. Maintaining measurement system integrity is a core expectation not a support function.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections per defined inspection plans
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications accurately
- Inspect critical features including dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes
- Use inspection equipment:
- Calipers
- OD/ID micrometers
- Blade micrometers
- Height gages
- Optical comparator / vision systems (preferred)
- Verify calibration status of all gages prior to use
- Maintain gage control (ID, labeling, status, handling, storage)
- Identify and remove out-of-calibration or damaged gages from service immediately
- Record inspection results clearly in manual or electronic inspection reports
- Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming material immediately
- Execute containment actions and escalate issues without delay
- Follow defined sampling plans and inspection levels (Level II / Level III)
- Maintain full traceability of product and documentation
- Handle parts carefully to prevent damage during inspection

- Zero false accepts / zero escapes
- 100% inspection documentation completeness
- 100% first-piece inspection compliance
- Immediate response to nonconformance
- On-time inspection release to production and shipping
- Zero use of out-of-calibration gages
Decision Authority
- Accept or reject product strictly based on defined criteria no assumptions
- Stop production on suspect or non-conforming material
- Escalate unclear or conflicting requirements immediately
- Reject use of any out-of-calibration or improper gaging
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
- Hands-on experience with precision inspection tools
- Working knowledge of calibration systems and gage control practices
- Ability to verify gage calibration status, due dates, and traceability
- Ability to hold and verify tight tolerances (±0.0001”)
- Understanding of surface finish requirements and inspection methods
- High attention to detail and disciplined documentation habits
- Ability to follow standardized processes without deviation
Preferred Experience
- Optical comparator or vision system experience
- Experience in medical device or precision manufacturing environment
- Experience as a calibration technician or supporting calibration systems (NIST traceability, calibration logs, vendor coordination)
