Job Description
Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Manager, Procurement and Contracts to support our clients operations in central Alberta. This role is key to driving the execution of local procurement strategies aligned with broader North American and Global initiatives. The successful candidate will ensure that contracts, suppliers, and sourcing efforts contribute to operational efficiency, cost control, and long-term business value.
Responsibilities
- Execute local procurement strategies in alignment with North America Category Managers
- Lead sourcing, negotiation, and onboarding of local suppliers to ensure strong service and cost performance
- Manage procurement of goods and services for key operations in Alberta
- Oversee contract implementation and ensure compliance with corporate standards
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with business objectives
- Identify savings and reduce risks to organization
- Track KPIs, report savings, and contribute to performance reviews at operational and executive levels
- Promote procurement best practices and process improvements across the site
Requirements
- University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, including sourcing and category management
- Proficiency in SAP, MS Office, and Google Suite
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into insights
- Effective communicator with strong planning and organizational skills
- Experience in heavy industrial operations is an asset
Remuneration
