As a Mental Health Therapist, Trauma Specialist, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conduct interviews with clients and client-identified resources, assess social, psychological, emotional and behavioral issues and identify core areas of concern to be addressed by therapeutic interventions
  • Provide reports on client’s behavior and progress and maintain clinical records
  • Maintain knowledge related to the areas of trauma and therapeutic interventions
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate psycho-educational, experiential and process groups
  • Develop, implement and evaluate programs based on patient needs and goals
  • Provide client-centered treatment, RTW (Return to Work)-oriented support and culturally competent services to clients
  • Assume responsibility for the treatment, recovery process and support of assigned clients
  • Facilitate group therapy, provide individual counselling and therapeutic interventions
  • Participate in weekly team meetings for client reviews, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, discharge planning and to organize daily assignments
  • Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with clinical and program stakeholders
  • Collect client information for the purpose of customer reports, program evaluation, research, and proposals
  • Participate in trauma-related committees, project development, quality improvement, promotional initiatives across SAW (Stay at Work), RTW Divisions and Inpatient/Residential Programs
  • Supervise assigned students and/or interns

What We’re Looking For

  • Masters in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or other related discipline
  • Valid registration with the relevant governing body
  • Knowledge of standardized and non-standardized assessments
  • Service-specific training i.e., wellness education
  • Knowledge of issues of trauma, concurrent addiction disorders, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Recovery, CBT, DBT, CPR, Mental Health Act and PHIPA
  • Strong organizational, time management and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to provide seamless customer service delivery to both internal and external stakeholders and identify opportunities for customer service improvement
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as to contribute actively to team objectives
  • Take responsibility for actions and decisions
  • Find ways to integrate sustainability into your own work
  • Awareness and acknowledgment of the value of using measurement-based care when supporting patients/clients to help guide clinical decision making; experience an asset
