Position Purpose:
The Loss Prevention Specialist plays a crucial role in safeguarding the company's assets by minimizing financial losses due to theft and fraud, while also ensuring compliance with safety and environmental programs across assigned stores. This dynamic role includes using various tools and strategies to detect incidents of retail crime, monitor security systems, and promote a culture focused on reducing shrinkage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and investigate theft and fraud incidents.
- Review CCTV footage and exception reports for suspicious activities.
- Audit the effectiveness of Electronic Article Surveillance systems.
- Document apprehensions and recoveries through detailed case reports.
- Preserve evidence and coordinate with law enforcement when necessary.
- Testify in criminal and civil court when required.
- Report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty.
- Conduct responsibilities with a focus on minimizing injury risk to yourself, colleagues, vendors, and customers.
- Engage with associates regarding asset protection and operational matters.
- Align with store-specific business objectives to support overall asset protection efforts.
