Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, skilled and reliable Culinary Chef to lead food preparation and kitchen operations at our private school and elite hockey academy. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, high-performance environment and understand the importance of nutrition in supporting young students and athletes. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and preparing well-balanced, high-quality meals that meet the dietary needs of all students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
-Plan, prepare and execute daily meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for students and staff
-Develop nutritious menus
-Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and other special dietary needs
-Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control
-Oversee all kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering, shopping, and cost control
-Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitary regulations to the highest standard
-Collaborate with the school and athletic staff on nutrition and menu planning
-Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen setting at all times.
Qualifications
-proven experience as a chef, preferably in a school, sports, or institutional setting
-culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred
-string knowledge of nutrition, especially in relation to athletic performance
-Food Safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
-Ability to work flexible hours, including early morning, evenings, and weekends
-excellent organizational and time management skills
-leadership and communication skills
Preferred Attributes
