Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Tax Accountant and Advisor role based in Williamsburg, VA. The Tax Accountant and Advisor will prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role will analyze client financial information, assist with tax planning strategies, and identify opportunities to minimize tax liabilities while maintaining compliance. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining accurate workpapers, reconciling accounts, preparing or reviewing financial statements and tax returns, tax planning, and advisory. The role also involves communicating with clients to gather information, explain findings, provide advisory recommendations, and collaborate with colleagues to resolve complex tax and accounting issues.

Qualifications

• Strong tax technical skills, including Tax Compliance, Tax Preparation, and general Tax knowledge.
• Proficiency in Accounting principles and practices, with the ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret Financial Statements.
• Experience using tax and accounting software, along with solid Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/EA or progress toward CPA/EA licensure preferred.
• Relevant public accounting or tax experience is highly beneficial, particularly with individual and small business clients.
• Commitment to ethical standards, client confidentiality, and ongoing professional development in tax law and regulations.
