Job Description
Job Title: Data Engineer
Contract: 6 months with possibility of extensions
Location: Hybrid if within the Toronto area (Mississauga or Toronto office) — Open to Remote
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain data pipelines for extraction, transformation, and loading using SQL and AWS technologies.
- Build and maintain existing Airflow DAGs.
- Prototype new technology to enhance consumer experiences through data.
- Provide support and insights to business analytics and data science teams.
- Work with stakeholders on data‑related technical issues and infrastructure needs.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to build scalable pipelines and APIs.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Good communication skills and openness to learning new skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or similar.
- Programming skills with Python; Spark (bonus).
- Experience with Airflow or similar systems.
- Experience with a public cloud provider (AWS preferred).
- Knowledge of SQL, relational database concepts, and SQL scripting.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Spark, Snowflake, CI/CD (bonus).
