Harvard Media operates at the forefront of news and information delivery in Saskatchewan. As one of Saskatchewan’s largest news organizations, Harvard Media has two leading news radio stations, “CKRM” in Regina and “GX94” in Yorkton and SaskToday.ca. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality, balanced news that resonates with the community. We are in search of a Reporter/Weekend Anchor, excited about telling Saskatchewan stories. This position blends in-depth reporting, strong writing skills, and confident broadcast delivery to serve audiences on air, online, and through digital platforms. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Research, write and voice local and regional news stories for radio and online publication
Curate/update the 620 CKRM and GX94 websites with accurate, relevant and engaging local content
Develop story ideas through community engagement, local contacts and monitoring of social media and news sources
Produce and anchor weekend newscasts for CKRM and GX94 with a strong on-air presence and editorial judgment
Report on breaking news stories as they occur
Attend media events as scheduled, condensing and writing locally relevant news stories
Collaborate with newsroom and programming teams to align storytelling across broadcast and online platforms
Localize regional, national and internationally trending stories for our listening audience
Represent Harvard Media professionally at media events
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to multi-task with keen attention to detail and deadlines
Able to work unsupervised and take direction
Agriculture background an asset
Team player who thrives in a busy cross platform collaborative environment
Familiarity with social media and formatting stories for online distribution
Knowledge of KLZ Newsroom, Villager, SoCast and Wide Orbit software an asset
Must understand responsible, effective use of social media
Essential Requirements:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Willing to work flexible hours
Must have a valid driver's license and provide a current driver abstract
