Job Description

Role Objective

To generate consistent, high-margin transportation business by acquiring clients, optimizing lane utilization, and ensuring long-term contracts for the fleet.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and onboard new clients:
  • Manufacturers
  • FMCG / D2C brands
  • E-commerce / quick commerce
  • 3PL & freight forwarders
  • Develop lane-based business (fixed routes for higher efficiency)
  • Focus on contract-based / long-term business over spot loads
  • Build relationships with supply chain managers & procurement teams

Sales & Revenue

  • Generate profitable loads ensuring positive margin per trip
  • Negotiate freight rates based on lane, fuel cost, and demand
  • Maximize fleet utilization (reduce empty return trips)
  • Cross-sell services:
  • Full Truck Load (FTL)
  • Part Load (PTL)
  • Refrigerated transport (if applicable)
  • Warehousing / integrated logistics

Coordination & Execution

  • Coordinate with operations team for:
  • Vehicle placement
  • Dispatch planning
  • Delivery timelines
  • Ensure smooth execution and client satisfaction
  • Handle escalations and maintain service quality

Reporting & CRM

  • Maintain pipeline of leads and conversions
  • Track:
  • Revenue per client
  • Lane profitability
  • Payment cycles
  • Provide weekly updates on business performance

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • 2–6 years experience in transport / trucking sales
  • Strong network with:
  • Shippers / manufacturers
  • Logistics managers
  • Understanding of:
  • Freight rates
  • Key transport lanes in India
  • Highly target-driven with commercial awareness (margin focus)
  • Good communication & negotiation skills

Qualification

  • Graduate (BBA / B.Com / MBA Logistics preferred)

Compensation Structure

  • Fixed Salary + Attractive Incentives on Gross Profit (GP)
  • Travel + mobile reimbursement

KPIs / Performance Metrics

  • New client acquisition
  • Revenue & Gross Profit per month
  • Fleet utilization %
  • Reduction in empty kilometers
  • Average rate per km improvement
  • Client retention & repeat business

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
