THE POSITION – Associate Scientist/Scientist in Bioinformatics
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Scientist/Scientist in Bioinformatics to join Translational Medicine team in Maryland R&D site Hansoh Bio. The successful candidate will work closely with corporate partners, cross-functional teams and project teams to support our programs. This role offers the opportunity to apply advanced deep learning frameworks and bioinformatic tools to accelerate drug discovery. Candidate is expected to maintain diligent records of computational workflows and communicate data findings through visualizations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct the processing, analysis, and interpretation of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data from different platforms in drug development.
- Assist in the development and implementation of AI/ML/deep learning models for drug discovery and pathology.
- Provide timely communication and high-quality visualizations of complex data to project teams and corporate partners.
- Maintain diligent records of computational workflows, code repositories (e.g., GitHub), and data logs in accordance with standard practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master or Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related fields with 0–2 years of research experience.
- High proficiency in Python or R for genomic data analysis and statistical modeling.
- Hands-on experience with standard bioinformatics tools.
- Experience in applying AI, machine learning and deep learning frameworks to drug discovery and pathology is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of molecular biology and genomics; experience in oncology or immunology is desirable.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
