Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Manager to oversee our backend HR operations and payroll functions. You will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, employee data management, statutory compliance, and optimizing internal HR workflows. The ideal candidate ensures 100% accuracy in compensation and maintains seamless HR backend processes.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll & Compensation Management

  • End-to-End Processing: Manage the entire payroll cycle for all employees, ensuring salaries are processed accurately and on time.
  • Input Validation: Collect, audit, and verify payroll inputs including attendance, leaves, overtime, and incentive structures.
  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure deductions and contributions are compliant, including Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), and Income Tax (TDS).
  • Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits such as health insurance, gratuity, and leave encashment.
  • Query Resolution: Address and resolve payroll and compensation-related queries from employees promptly

HR Operations & Administration

  • Data Management: Maintain highly accurate employee databases and records within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Life-Cycle Operations: Oversee backend processes for employee onboarding (background checks, system access) and offboarding (full and final settlements, exit formalities).
  • Attendance & Leave Tracking: Monitor daily attendance, manage leave balances, and generate operational reports.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external payroll vendors and benefits providers to ensure smooth service delivery.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Labor Laws: Ensure organizational compliance with local and national labor laws and regulations.
  • Audits: Prepare documentation and assist with internal and external HR and payroll audits.
  • Metrics & Analytics: Develop and maintain HR dashboards tracking key metrics such as payroll costs, attrition, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree (MBA/PGDM) or payroll certifications preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in HR operations, payroll management, and compliance.

Payroll/HRIS Software: Advanced working knowledge of [Example HR Platform/Tool].
