The Product team at H1 works at the intersection of healthcare, data, and AI. We partner closely with customers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to solve complex problems for some of the world's leading life sciences organizations.
We're looking for a Lead Product Designer who thrives in complex enterprise environments and is excited by challenging workflows, large datasets, and highly technical products.
WHAT YOU'LL DO AT H1
This is not a traditional UI/UX design role. Success in this role requires curiosity about how systems work, how data flows through products, and how users make decisions within complex workflows. You'll be expected to move beyond design execution, helping define problems, shape solutions, influence product direction, and drive initiatives from discovery through delivery.
The ideal candidate combines strong product design expertise with experience designing enterprise B2B software, data-intensive applications, analytics platforms, or AI-powered products.
You will:
- Lead end-to-end design initiatives across H1's Clinical, Medical, Commercial, and Data products
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data Engineering, AI, and Customer-facing teams to deeply understand user workflows, business objectives, and product challenges
- Develop a strong understanding of how healthcare data is sourced, structured, transformed, and delivered to customers, using that knowledge to inform product decisions
- Translate highly technical requirements and complex workflows into intuitive, scalable user experiences
- Drive discovery efforts by identifying user needs, uncovering opportunities, and challenging assumptions
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that balance usability with technical complexity
- Facilitate alignment across stakeholders and proactively identify dependencies needed to move initiatives forward
- Partner directly with customers to understand workflows, pain points, and decision-making processes
- Leverage AI tools and methodologies to accelerate research, synthesis, design exploration, and prototyping
- Contribute to product strategy and help shape roadmap discussions beyond traditional design responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with engineers throughout implementation to ensure high-quality execution and user outcomes
- Contribute to and evolve design systems, interaction patterns, and product standards as the platform continues to scale
ABOUT YOU
You are far more than a UI/UX designer. You are naturally curious about how products work beneath the surface and enjoy understanding the systems, workflows, and data models that power great user experiences. You ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, and seek to become an expert in the products you support.
- You thrive in ambiguity and are comfortable operating without perfectly defined requirements. You proactively identify opportunities, help clarify direction, and work cross-functionally to move initiatives forward.
- You understand that successful enterprise product design is not just about creating polished interfaces—it's about solving complex problems, simplifying difficult workflows, and helping users make better decisions.
- You are adaptable, collaborative, and open to feedback. You can work effectively with strong personalities and diverse perspectives while maintaining a focus on delivering meaningful outcomes for customers.
- Most importantly, you are willing to step beyond the traditional boundaries of design when necessary to help the team solve problems and deliver results.
REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of Product Design experience in B2B SaaS environments
- Proven experience designing enterprise software with complex workflows, large datasets, analytics capabilities, operational tooling, or decision-support systems
- Strong portfolio demonstrating work on data-heavy products, enterprise platforms, analytics applications, workflow tools, or technical software products
- Experience owning and leading design initiatives independently with minimal oversight
Expertise in Figma, prototyping, interaction design, and design systems
- Experience collaborating closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Data Engineers, and technical stakeholders
- Strong understanding of user research, information architecture, workflow design, and interaction design
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into intuitive user experiences
- Demonstrated ability to influence product direction and collaborate effectively without relying on formal authority
- Experience incorporating AI tools into design workflows and/or designing AI-powered product experiences
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
STRONGLY PREFERRED
- Experience designing products within healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, healthcare analytics, or regulated industries
- Familiarity with clinical trial workflows, healthcare data products, pharmaceutical user journeys, or healthcare intelligence platforms
- Experience designing AI-enabled products, intelligent workflows, or data intelligence platforms
- Experience working closely with data engineering, analytics, machine learning, or platform engineering teams
- Experience designing products used by enterprise customers with complex decision-making and operational workflows
COMPENSATION
This role pays $160,000 to $175,000 per year, based on experience, plus a variable commission based on personal performance, in addition to equity.
Anticipated role close date: 8/15/2026
