🌟 ROLE OVERVIEW
GovWell is hiring a Deployment Strategist, New Business to lead new customer launches and ensure long-term success across our municipal partners.
GovWell is the primary system of record for government staff and is used daily to run critical workflows. This role owns the end-to-end implementation experience, guiding cities and counties through onboarding, configuration, and adoption while ensuring they realize value quickly and sustainably.
You will operate at the intersection of customer, product, and engineering, managing complex deployments, supporting ongoing usage, and shaping the product through direct customer insight.
This is a high-ownership role based in our NYC hybrid environment (3+ days per week in office), with up to 25% travel for customer engagement.
💻 WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead 3–6 month implementations for new customers, including onboarding, requirements gathering, workflow design, and go-live.
- Manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects across municipal teams, ensuring timelines, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout implementation, supporting adoption and a successful handoff to our Long-term Deployment Team.
- Identify workflow gaps, product limitations, and new opportunities, and translate them into actionable feedback for product and engineering.
- Troubleshoot issues in real time and coordinate with internal teams to resolve blockers quickly.
- Help standardize implementation processes and improve playbooks over time.
🧠 WHO YOU ARE
- 3+ years of experience in project management, implementation, consulting, or a similarly client-facing role involving complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong project manager with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple stakeholders and timelines.
- Clear and effective communicator, comfortable working directly with customers and internal teams.
- Scrappy and execution-oriented, willing to do whatever it takes to get customers live and successful.
- Fast learner who can quickly understand new systems, workflows, and domains.
- Strong problem solver who can navigate ambiguity and develop creative solutions.
- Motivated by impact and aligned with GovWell’s mission to improve how governments serve their communities.
- Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time.
