Founded by Dr. Gopal K Saxena educationist, researcher, and visionary The Gopal K Saxena Foundation supports rigorous scientific inquiry into emerging technologies that have the potential to transform how we learn, discover, and solve complex problems. Our research places particular emphasis on the development of intelligent systems for education, including AI-based individual tutors and adaptive learning platforms.

In the AI area the Foundation operates through the Gopal K Saxena Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research (GSCAIR) an interdisciplinary lab working at the intersection of machine learning, learning science, and applied AI. About the Role

We are hiring AI Post Docs to contribute to rigorous, publication-driven research in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

This is a pure research role focused on advancing theoretical and empirical understanding in areas such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and related domains. The role emphasizes scientific inquiry, experimentation, and publication, with no expectation of product or software development.

Research at the Centre spans these domains:

AI in Education

AI-based tutors, adaptive learning systems, and intelligent educational technologies.

Reinforcement Learning

Decision-making systems & learning agents capable of adapting through interaction.

Optimization & Algorithms

Advanced computational methods for solving complex learning and optimisation problems.

Autonomous Systems

Research on intelligent agents capable of operating in complex environments.

Scientific Machine Learning

Applying machine learning to accelerate scientific discovery and modelling.

Responsibilities

Research & Experimentation

• Design and conduct controlled experiments to investigate research questions in AI/ML
• Develop, train, and evaluate models strictly for research and benchmarking purposes
• Collect, curate, clean, and annotate datasets for experimental use
• Ensure reproducibility, documentation, and statistical rigor in all experiments

Literature Review & Knowledge Building

• Conduct structured and in-depth literature reviews across relevant research areas
• Identify gaps in existing research and propose novel hypotheses
• Stay up to date with advancements in top-tier AI conferences and journals

Publications & Research Output

• Write high-quality research papers, technical reports, and white papers
• Contribute to submissions for leading conferences and journals (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, CVPR)
• Present research findings internally and at academic forums

Collaboration

• Collaborate with internal research teams on multi-disciplinary projects
• Engage with external academic collaborators and research institutions
• Participate in reading groups, seminars, and peer discussions

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant discipline
• At least one peer-reviewed publication or preprint in AI/ML/NLP/CV
• Experience designing and executing independent research studies
• Strong academic writing and documentation skills

Compensation

The salary expectation for this role is 70,000 80,000 per month, depending on qualifications, research experience, and publication record.
