Job Description
As a Technical Writer UX Senior Associate at Google Operations Center, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining content for Google Ads Help Centers and Developer Sites. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working with a team to manage various Google Ads Help Center articles, developer sites, and other content sources.
- Taking requests to create or edit content through drafting, coding, revising, and peer and quality editorial reviews in an internal ticketing system.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to create clear and compelling written and visual content following Googles style guide and content models.
- Reviewing usersubmitted feedback, fixing broken links and missing language translations, and updating product terminologies.
- Submitting drafts and prepublished content to Senior Technical Writers for peer review and QA audit, ensuring style, grammar, and process standards.
- Liaising with agencies producing multimedia content and language translation teams.
- Owning additional projects and initiatives focusing on process improvement and excellence, using data from feedback.
- Working required business hours and responding to shifting business needs under certain degrees of process ambiguity.
Qualifications required for this role:
- 25 years of experience in web technical writing, UX practices, product documentation, or online publishing, preferably with developercentric content.
- Experience writing documentation for developers, dev tools, devops, howto guides, user guides, API references, software development concepts, programming languages, SDKs, and web technologies.
- Ability to create visuals and flow diagrams to enhance technical support content.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Markdown, or XML/DITA for drafting and writing technical content in a CMS environment.
- Writing within a style guide or following standards for webbased document design.
- Prior experience as a frontend website content developer is a plus.
- Excellent English communication (written & oral) and stakeholder management skills. Experience with global stakeholders, engineers, or developers to improve user experience.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Handson experience writing technical content using HTML, JavaScript, Markdown, XML, or DITA.
- Familiarity with Google Ads, digital marketing concepts, and SEO.
- Understanding of versioncontrol systems like Git or SVN.
- Experience in a supportrelated function (data analysis, training, quality, project management, etc.) within an inhouse/outsourced operations environment.
