An established, chef-driven concept in the heart of Washington, DC is seeking a talented Chef de Cuisine to take the reins of daily kitchen operations. The Role

As Chef de Cuisine, you will oversee all back-of-house operations, ensuring excellence in execution, team leadership, and financial performance. You will partner closely with senior leadership to maintain standards while continuing to build a strong, accountable kitchen culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead all daily kitchen operations in a high-volume environment
  • Drive consistency in food quality, presentation, and execution
  • Manage and develop Sous Chefs and line-level team members
  • Oversee ordering, inventory, and food cost controls
  • Execute scheduling and manage labor to meet financial goals
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with leadership on menu execution and operational improvements
  • Build and maintain a positive, high-performance kitchen culture

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume upscale restaurant
  • Current Chef de Cuisine or strong Executive Sous Chef ready to step up
  • Proven ability to lead large teams in fast-paced kitchens
  • Strong financial acumen (food cost, labor, systems)
  • Detail-oriented with high culinary standards
  • Hands-on, calm, and solutions-driven leadership style
